Let me start by saying this is as 1280x1024 with a 2900pro @ 800/900.......

I got it, your UI is horrible. :p Mine use to look like this when I played. http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=510479

Is it possible you changed your UI scale and it moved things, I am guessing your UI showing where the bars are etc is your issue? I know some of the addons I used if you played with your UI scale things could actually go off the screen. What you can try is seeting defaults in the game settings then delete your WTF and WDB folders, this will give you a clean slate. The thing is by doing that you have to redo all your settings UI etc. I quit WoW in August so I am a little rusty but I will try and help you fix it, keep me posted.

I think he wants to know why he is only getting 26.3 FPS I get better than that on a 7600gs, p4 3.06.

No wonder, his 2900Pro is in a UPS truck.:p (update your sig). Sounds like a possible driver issue, what level AA are you using? Sometimes overclocking too high won't produce artifacts but will cause lower performance. Try stock clocks and see what the results are.

Is about the same at stock clocks. Is also about the same when I use no AA and no AF :/ That pic has 8x AA and 16X AF though.
I had about the same performance with my 7600gt (though it had texture shimmer and worse AF quality).

You use too many mouse clicks and not enough key bindings?

and my keybindings are done through bongos ;) they dont show up on the bar though I admit I only bind things I need to use while moving.

There is some other bottleneck here it seems. I don't know the exact system specs WoW likes, but this is looking more like a driver issue. When you switched cards how did you switch drivers (what process)?

I removed the 8.1 or whatever drives and went 7.11. They work much better and allow me to overclock, use ati tool, see my temps, etc... WoW performance still seems about the same though. I was expecting it to be pegged at 60FPS+ especially with ~10k in 3dmark06 :( but just not how its going. I think ill try in the WoW forums and see what kind of FPS other people get with newish cards.

That card would likely do better supported by a Q6600 G-0 @ 3.0GHz or higher. The cards ATi have recently been releasing are also much stronger in SM 3.0 than 2.0. 1280x is not often a GPU limited res. I am guessing CPU and possibly WoW uses a lot of SM 2.0 or lower.

To me atleast it looks like your not too far out of town yet. Maybe just some left over lag from leaving the town I always used to studder a bit when on a FP leaving a capital city.

Wow doesn't use a lot of anything... you should be able to pwn that game. I'd suggest running a driver cleaner, and reloading them.

Actually since the last patch (or maybe two patches?) WoW uses a ton of cpu. They optimized it for multiple cores and since they did that I have seen wow take 90% of both of my cores.

I think I turned off the multicore support because it was causing long annoying pauses. Guess I could try it again. Even still though, WoW should be able to play on a single 2.9ghz AMD chip at high FPS :(

Ok... I haven't played in about 4-5 months. However back when I played, it would play fine on a 1.6 Ghz Duron. I'm pretty sure that no matter how much they changed, you still don't need a 3.0 ghz q6600 to play it, which is what backlash was suggesting.

Im only using a stock 4200+ x2 so it doesn't take much cpu.

It's Terrokar Forest. It kinda runs slow, period.

Running at 1680x1050 16xCSAA 16xAF, I get ~35-45fps going through the same area. The zone just kinda runs like poo.

Thats a pretty big difference in resolution and image quality and you're getting 30-40% better FPS... There's probably still something wrong here.

OP, Make sure you uninstall the drivers in the Control panel/Programs icon. Reboot in safe mode, use driver cleaner 3, reboot into safe mode again, install correct driver, reboot into normal windows. See if that makes any difference.
