What is wrong with my SATA installation?

I plugged it into the SATA 1 socket on my MSI K8N Neo4 and plugged the power cable into the Y splitter for SATA drives, and in IDE devices in the bios (which lists both IDE and SATA) SATA1/SATA2 is enabled... I even tried going to SATA settings and turning on raid 0 but nothing is detecting... please help :( I'm new to this and its my first SATA HD.
 
You never stated if the Bios sees the drive or not.


If it does, follow the directinos in my Sig. If not you have possible a bad, cable or drive, or not enough power.
