What is wrong with my Prescott?

I've long had a suspicion that my Prescott is underperforming. My 3dmark06 CPU scores are pitiful in the CPU department and everywhere I look my processor is getting outperformed by similiar processors at lower clock speeds.

Mines OC'ed to 3.75 and his still destroyed mine. My proc temps are extremely low-- Something like 33idle 38load so it's not TM1.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to turn hyperthreading off and give it another go...

Oh and it's not because of de-synchronized DRAM or anything (due to OC) because my CPU gets a laughable 660-680 @ stock speeds.
 
What are you complete system specs, and what score are you getting...

I honestly think that 3DMark06 is written to score socket 478/754/A systems below an equally equipped socket 939/775 systems.

My 2.4C@3.4 has a CPU score of 732.
 
Well I disabled hyperthreading and my CPU score jumped up to nearly a thousand. My video card score dropped significantly putting me back right where I started.

Why would disabling hyperthreading hamper my GPU while significantly boosting my CPU performance?

Also your overclocked 2.4 is outperforming my 3.4@ stock speeds assuming you have hyperthreading turned on .

Not quite. 3DMark06 is biased against single-core Intel CPU's regardless of socket; in fact, my 2.8C Northwood P4 (Socket 478) scored only 610 on the CPU test versus 697 for my AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (Socket A) Barton (both are @ stock speeds). What's more, both the 2.8C and the XP 2600+ scored nearly equal in the graphics tests. There is no way to get both a high CPU score and a high graphics score in the same run of 3DMark06 with any of the single-core Intel CPU's - with or without HyperThreading.

Oh, by the way, a Socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 system should get a CPU score which is comparable to that of a single-core Socket 939 system running at the same clockspeed and with an equal amount of L2 cache. However, the graphics scores for a Socket 754 system may be slightly lower than that of an otherwise comparable Socket 939 system.
