So i started having problems with my headset. usb plug in.

what would happen is while playing i would start to get a static noise, then the sound would stop. the headset would still be on, just no sound, so if i would go into my sounds panel and disable and re inable the headset. the sound would come back on but the mic would not work.

so i thought this was a bad headset, so i went and bought a new one but the same problem is happening.
different headset, still usb plug in.

i recently got a new psu and ssd drive but this problem just started recently, and i purchased these over a month ago.

any ideas?

Try a different USB port. Might be grounding itself out somewhere.

I would suggest downloading the latest chipset drivers for your mainboard and also latest drivers for your headset (if any are available). Uninstall chipset drivers, especially the USB from device manager and installing from the chipset installer .exe.

updated everything, still happening.

this is only happening with my headsets, no problems with speakers.
edit: now my mic is not working at all on my new headset
