Hi - a friend came up to me recently wanting me to fix her computer. I took a look at it and am not sure of the problem. So she has Juno web access (the non-free kind). She can send and recieve e-mail - but that is all. She cannot browse the web. OS is windows 98, Internet browser is I think IE 5.5. E-mail client is some proprietary Juno software. I tried pinging various web sites and it didn't work. I could ping the loopback address though. I don't believe spyware to be the problem - though I suppose it is possible. I have had a couple ideas - perhaps something is wrong in her dns server configuration? Like maybe they are not set to auto detect and they're set to dns servers that no longer exist? I'm also going to write down a couple IPs of web sites and try pinging those. Any other ideas? Thanks!
