What is wrong with case designers?

I bought a Silverstone TJ08 2 years ago because it was the ONLY mATX case that had two 120mm fans.

Two years later, as far as I've been able to determine, it still is. :(

With CPUs and GPUs getting hotter, 120mm fans should be the standard, with 140mms being used if space permits.

I bought a Silverstone TJ07

7 x 5.25" bays (filled with 2 x "3 to 4" hard drive cages) leaves room for a single optical drive.

a single external 3.5" bay which is prefitted with USB and firewire ports.

I believe the mini P180 has a number of 120mm fans. I believe you can squeeze three 120s and it has a 200mm on top.

After some thought, there is a dearth of bona fide storage cases out there. This is a long standing issue that exists in several levels, from the lack of a mini-ITX box with just enough space for 4 3.5" drives to the mATX convertible with 8 bays in desktop/tower form factor to the high storage density "Norco but not so deep" ATX tower. I think the OP was looking for a case in this lineup and frankly I have been as well.

Floopy is dead guys, common now let it go. It is as useful as an 8-track tape. The last time I used a floppy was to reformat in DOS back in 2001. 3dfx was still around then lol

I use 1 DVD burner but have in the past had 2. But I find I don't really burn cd to cd so it is pointless for me so I use one. PATA should go the way of the floppy as well. Time to let these ol ass standards die out don't you think?

im glad we can still use ide harddrives and cdroms...

i think the worst problem with cases is they all look geeky and dumb for the most part. you ever nice to find a nice white pearl finish case? fat chance! unless you go custom, theres always that

My eyes! They burn!

I have to say, I love my full tower lian li V2000B. 12 internal 3.5" bays and 7 seven 5.25" drive bays. All cases should have this design. /rant

Am I the only one who thinks that thing looks absolutely awesome? IDK how good quality it is, but I give it an A in creativity/appearance. You certainly won't run into any look-alikes at LANs...

EDIT: Sorry, realized I wasn't very clear. I'm referring to the Auzentech Bulldozer case, not the Lian Li (though the Lian Li is pretty nice looking too, albeit less weird)

Antec still has a couple white cases IIRC, small mid-towers geared towards quiet computing (but they still have nice insides for hard drive decoupling, cable routing, etc.).

I remember when people thought the Corsair 800D was a perfect case, then we soon realized that it wasn't. I wanted more intake fans and no hot-swap bays, others where fine with the hot-swap bays. That simple disagreement meant the case had flaws depend on "who is" buying the case.

There nothing wrong with the cases your looking at, it's your personal preference that makes you not like the current cases. I didn't like the 800D because it didn't have front intake fans, that doesn't mean it was poorly designed, it's just not for "everyone".

I love my hotswap bays!

The case is so big anyway that if you didn't want to use them, you can use the two slots on the bottom for 3.5", or use the 5.25" for HDs... but why bother, the hotswaps are awesome.
