Subtle difference, but a difference non-the-less.

That's the general consensus anyway for the majority of the internet.
 
Back when Dan Quayle and I invented the Internet, I don't remember including those characteristics in subset 4b of the Rules & Regulations.


Anyways, Erasmus already pointed out the link, and it's probably a bit under the Storm's performance....but who knows, since no one's tried it yet.

Not really, it is pseudo jet impingement with micro channel pin matrix grid on the baseplate. The thread on this over at XS has come to the conclusion that this block is most similar to the Nexxxos XP, but designed to have less restriction, and therefore allow it to scale much better with flow than the Nexxxos XP.
 
see I guess I dont appreciate the subtle differences, I was under the impression any jet stream that was stripping the boundary layer qualified as jet impingment, be it a plate, cup, pin or microchannel it was striking

Not too sure on the lesser restriction part. There's a guy over at Procooling testing it, and using a pump even stronger (1190gph/22ft head) than that used in Phaestus's Procooling tests, he's only achieving 1.3/1.8/1.6gpm with Nozzles 1/2/3 respectively.
