What is this cooler?

I don't believe you can purchase that cooler. Is there a reason why you don't want the zalman cooler (which is most definitely better)? It isn't nearly as heavy as it looks.

yeah, i've seen that one, but it isn't rated for the newer GPU's, plus the one on the 9600xt ultimate looks much better.

the big zalman eats up the pci slot next to the vid card, which will make a difference in the mATX board i will be using. plus all the reviews of that card state that the cooler is very good, even for overclocking.

1U coolers for rackmounts and such should be able to fit without getting in the way of the next slot, you can usually find a couple for sale on newegg... you just gotta figure out how to put them on :p

Edit: newegg has a speeze model which has a 60mm fan that pushes 17 cfm (27 dba) for $17, and a TT 1u cooler with a 70mm fan that pushes 30 cfm (36 dba) for $21.

looking to have NO fan. taking special pains to keep this rig at 21dba or less. using all low noise fans with silicon fan silencers.

well, that pic is so hi-res you can tell the speed of the RAM on that 9600XTultimate....mmmm 2.8ns:D

Sapphire chopped up the original giantII cooler to get the one they use for the 9600XTultimate, no one said you cant do the same:)

No, it isn't the Giant II cut down. It's a very similar pattern of fins, but not the same. Compare the above linked picture to the Giant in this article: http://www.bit-tech.net/review/293/1

Nice try though. Anyone else have a guess?
