What is this "Chimp Challenge"

we decided not to participate this year, and by the looks of things, it really wouldn't have changed things anyway... additionally it just causes additional drama, which right now we should be more concerned about trying to delay getting run over by the evga team as much as possible than worry about some competition that used to be friendly

CC's kind of run too quick now. Used to be a marathon, now its a sprint. Last two years we had a lot of team strife based on people not switching over so they could keep gaining points on their names, then people calling out said people, then some shit talking from other teams all culminated to a giant clusterfuck.

This year we just said screw it, there are more important things to worry about and the drama just isn't worth it. Lost quite a few members last year because of it.

The CC is a PPD race of sorts where all the teams involved create a username that represents their 'challenger' in the competition. Any member from each team involved who desires to participate switches their personal username over to their team's challenger for the duration of the race. Whichever team achieves the goal set for that year's CC before the other teams, wins the competition.

If it went back to a long haul run, like 100 mil or more, then I'd be down for it. Also, that would help get the word out about the CC because 10 of the top 30 names in the world would all be chimps lol

Last year's challenge was basically decided in the first day of running. Not very much fun when it only lasted less than a week. However, I'm not sure a long haul one would be much mroe fun, but at least you'd have a chance to catch up...

Yea it lasted 3 days this year.
And its kind of shitty when your teams sponsor gives you a stack of blade servers to run during the challenge, but i wont say which team ;)

I was going to post some witty commentary on the CC but why bother.

Well maybe that I'm no longer interested until something changes with the "rules".

Wondering now how many of those blade servers are always on...
