Here is the scoop. I have a new Thermaltake Tsunami Dream tower. I have 120 coming in and 120 on the exhaust with 90 intake on the side. My power supply has two fans. I have a 92mm silent cat with a thermaltake Pipe 101 on my 64. My card is a 6800 ultra and I have a Nv5 silencer on it. Here is my question. What is the acceptable internal case temp. When I run it hard my case temp gets to 97 fahrenheit, but cools to 86 at idle. My cpu temps go to 105 under load and idle at 96. My card temp maxs out at 61 celsius. Let me know if I am in the game. You're just fine with the temps.

BTW: Do the letters OF mean anything to you? Lol
 
Mine are lower, with a 80 mm tornado on front blowing air in, a 80 mm LED Ultra fan oin the side, and a 80 mm on the back, and a 15 dollar heatsink......and my temps are just as low maybe lower, so, i guess yea they arent that bad, but you hould be expecting more performance out of those fans.
 
My thinking on this subject is..........

As long as you are running less that 20C above your rooms air temps at full load then you have good cooling.

If you are running more than 30C above your air temps under full load then you may well need to check on your airflow or get a better heatsink.

Anywhere in between is OK.

The best heatsink in the world will not give you good cooling with minimal air flow in your case and visa vera.
So I like to work with the difference in temps between the air going into your case and the temp of the CPU.

Try not buying really fancy heatsinks, and focus on case cooling, if the case has cold air, the CPU recieves cool air through the heatsink fan.
 
Fancy heatsinks I would say dont get one thats 24K gold platted bling bling,
but in my time I have had a lot of different HS's and I have noticed you sometimes you may spend a little more, but get better results. I had a thermaltake volcano 11 and then I got a thermalright si-97. the temps with the thermalright si-97 blew away the thermaltake no questions. thermaltake cost me 25 bucks hs and fan. thermalright cost me with panaflo 92mm fan and shipping 50ish. idle with thermaltake was 46 load 52-53
thermalright idle 42 load 47-48.
I recently got a good deal on a watercooling kit and I now have that. Temps are 40-42 idle load 44-46 but directly after load is off back down to idle temp. playing cs source last night two hours, I checked temps halfway through 44c idle was 42. temps with my Thermaltake big water cooling kit are little better than Si-97.
 
Those temps are perfectly fine. But report things in celcius, its just more common :cool:. Eh, I have this thermaltake POS copper silent boost with a 92mm panaflo on it. I lapped it to 1500 grit finish and I have a duct to the outside right over the CPU fan. Case temp is 26C, load is 41C.
 
If I was going to work on it more, I would get the card temp down. I like to see lower case temps, too. My case is at 28-29C most of the time, and I run a dually with old Palominos which are notorious for running hot. They stay around 40C with modified Swiftech 462 heatsinks and 39cfm Sunons. The case is tight. My thoughts on getting the card down is that its location has a lot to do with the heat. Is there an airtrap around it? With two processors this is common, and I suspect it can happen with a single processor, too. I would experiment with the case fans to see if the 61C temp drops down any. If not, I would cool the card with a fan/heatsink upgrade of some sort. I realize that what you have is within range, but anything over the high 40s bugs the crap out of me.
 
there is so much talk about good temps, ok temps, too high temps, everyone most of the time says something different. We need a stick guide thats has colums like
good temps normal/ok a little risky too hot/caution temps for the processors
I havent found a really good set of temps yet that I can compare mine to as well as many other questions on the a64 chips etc. someone says 50 is too high. Can anyone provide us with a real proven material on temps? thanks in advance!
I know they say about within 10-20 of your case(ambient) temp is ok.
