I believe it's for the optional soundbard accessory. Isn't it on that big sheet Dell ships with the monitor?

Hey, I have one more question. Do you have to install the CD that comes with the monitor in order to utilize the card reader? Thanks
 
No, Windows has the drivers built in (assuming you're running Win2k or higher).
The CD does have the monitor driver, if you want to install that.
 
I just figured it out. All you have to do is plug in the USB that it comes with. Thanks

Nothing really, but it's good to have installed since it can tell your video card what resolutions and refresh rates the monitor supports.

Cant the video card detect it? Whenever i select "Hide modes my monitor does not support" its always right on the money
