Hey all

I just received my copy of VISTA Home Premium (32bit). The OEM version.

I just noticed that the package says something about a Preinstallation kit. What is that all about?

If I am the owner of the disk and NOT the business distributing and making PC's for sale, do I need the kit?

Can I just boot it up and follow the DVD directions??? I want to install it tonight so please let me know. Man I want to get this PC running bad just to see what all this VISTA hub-bub is all about!!!

It's a set of tools to make installing the O/S on a bunch of machines easier. I used to work on testing the tools so if you have specific questions, I can try and answer them. Short answer, if not an OEM/System Builder not all that cool for you. ;)

OEM Preinstallation Kit

This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

So if I purchased the OEM disk...I can't install the operating system???

Did I just waste $100.00???

I thought I read on the package the the disk also contains the OPK???

Holy cow??? I didn't have time to try to install the software last night so I don't know what is going to happen.

I read on the NEW EGG site under all the "reviews" under this operating system that you just put the disk in and it starts right up???

Whoa, calm down. Breathe. Limit yourself to one question mark per question.

The OPK doesn't apply to you. Just insert the disc and fire it up.

that was a close one.

Okay now that I am back with the living. I will calm down and breathe.

Thanks guys...I thought that was what I read.

hahahahah No question marks.
