Yesterday, I placed an overnight order with rush processing for parts for a client and had it in well before 12 PM PST (per their guidelines). I checked the order around 6 PM, and it still shows it in step 3 (charged).

This morning, I get a ship notification for the case that was part of the order, but nothing for the the rest of the stuff. I check the site, and what do you know, the rest of the parts are still in step 3. Five minutes after I check it, the case shows up, I check the site again an hour later to see the other parts are just now being packed. All are shipping from La Puente, CA, by the way.

This is the second time in two months I've paid an outrageous sum to get the stuff overnight (yes, it's necessary), and only had part of the order arrive on time. The first time it happened, I had something else come up and couldn't do anything with them had they come in, so I brushed it off. In the five years I've used the Egg, I'm forced to admit that they are seriously slacking as of late. This time, they'll be refunding the overnight charges on the unshipped parts.

What's the deal?

Call them and ask?
That's not what I'm asking.

In five years I've never once had issues...suddenly, their service is substandard. I've seen several others express the same disappointment.

It's not my problem specifically, it's the larger reasons why the Egg is becoming, well, ass.

Well, if you call them and ask and they give you a BS answer or if they don't have an answer then I would be more concerned. And if you are concerned I would at least call and ask for an explanation.

Then post what they say and everyone can benefit from knowing.

Also, if you read the fine print on their "rush" shipping it says basically that "they'll do their best to ship it the same day". It doesn't promise they will.

I have used them for years. Spent countless amounts of money with them. I can tell you that occasionally things are going to happen. Thats just the nature of the any bussiness. misstakes are made. Its human. As a bussiness get larger and thus more bussines and sells more and interacts with more customers, the chance of more things going wrong is going to increase. Thats just the way it works. Thats why we have such things as customer service departments and RMA and things and people to help us when they do go wrong. That doesnt mean that they suck all the sudden, and my statement in no way means that I think misstakes are a good thing either. Im just trying to state a fact that I think is overlooked. I also see that if one thing or two things happen we throw the book at them. What about the 500 other times they came thru for you. Does that not outweigh the negatives in any way. I think to many people make to much out of something small and need to step back and take a look. This not only happens with New Egg but with anyone that does bussiness. No ones perfect. I would call them Im sure they will take care of you. But thats just my 2cents.

I'm in a similar business myself, and I can tell you right off hand about one of every three shipments from different venders get screwed up somehow. It's either the vender not having it in his present stock or the computer system responsible for keeping the inventory streight is off a little.

Step 1: Go to www.pricewatch.com -OR- www.pricegrabber.com -OR- www.resellerratings.com and type in the product name and or numbers in the search engine.

Step 2: Pick lowest cheapest one and research the business name at www.resellerratings.com

Step 3: After searching the name at ResellerRatings, follow this rule of thumb: If the businesses rating is 0-6.9 then DO NOT buy from them...if it is 7-10 then they are considered reliable IMO.

Step 4: Laugh at OldSmellyEgg for not being the cheapest reseller (in most cases) and enjoy your newly bought product.

I don't get why these NE fan-boys are so obsessed with NE...they say it's cause of customer service BUT IMO I shouldn't even have to USE customer service...contacting customer service means that something went wrong...I concentrate more on the pricing, services, shipping, and packaging...RR even gives out awards to resellers with lots of positive feedback...and a BIG plus if the reseller replies to the negative remarks and problems that ppl leave...

Well that's what *I* do when searching for new parts...and just for the record, I have NEVER had a problem with resellers following the steps I take...and I have only bought from NE once and that was to buy a deal they were having for a group of fans...it was like 10 for $10...and they weren't all that bad fans either...pretty nice deal for your regular case fans...

Happy Buying!!!

Ok first off reseller ratings is a bit lame. Ive seen SEVERAL highly touted highly recomended via Reseller Ratings get flamed right here on this forum. So as far as that goes it dont mean Squat. Next As I said, that I am not saying that NE was right or wrong but have done bussiness with them and you insist on calling people Fan Boys of NE when they are not saying anything to that. If you think that Customer service is not needed then you are high. You havent a clue. Anything touched, made or done by humans can and will go wrong at any given point and thus is why Customer service is needed and if you dont think so you mentioned that Venders reply to neg marks via RR. well who do you think does that....Hmmm prolly the customer service dept. The only point I was making was that the origanal poster said that many time bought from NE was good but messed up 2 times This is crap. I dont care if its NE or Monach or ZZF or who. They all will do things right and they all will do things wrong. But if they do 100 things right and mess up twice be a little more forgiving and not go off half cocked Remeber the other 100 time they got it right. the wrong to right ratio favors them taking good care of you.just think before you act and post or flame or get mad. Now if he said Ive called them 100 times and they got it right only ten times then he has a right to bitch. But as I also said before that was my 2cents on the issue. like it or not.

Approximately 3 months ago I switched from NewEgg to MWave, ZZF and Monarch for our companies purchases, here's why:

Our company had been purchasing from NewEgg (exclusively for 4+ years). We averaged $1000.00 per month in hardware purchases. Approximately 3 months ago I purchased a complete computer package from NewEgg for our CFO. The package included a ViewSonic 19” (12ms) LCD monitor. Assuming NewEgg had competitive prices and awesome customer service, I didn’t think twice about ordering it from them. The next morning I received a shipping confirmation email message. The packages were on their way. A few hours later the CFO calls me into his office. Apparently, NewEgg charged us $60.00 more for the LCD monitor than any other online reseller (including local B&M stores). In fact, the MSRP was $40.00 less than I was charged for the monitor. I called NewEgg and informed them of this. The Customer Service Representative said “It’s against their company policy to price match other on-line stores”. Later that day the price was changed to reflect the correct price on their WEB site. I contacted them a few more times but didn’t get anywhere. Now, $60.00 isn’t much money to worry about, but it forced me to shop around. Guess what? NewEgg’s prices were consistently higher than the other stores. Also, shipping costs were considerably higher on larger purchases…

First of all, paragraphs are easier on the eyes...plz use them...
Secondly, did you REALLY need to quote every singe word of my long post??? use this next time: ^^^ Again...easier on the eyes and doesn't waste as much space???
Why am I saying this? Cause someone else did it to me when I typed like you and I changed my ways and I encourage you to do the same...

ResellerRatings.com do not rate the companies themselves...the ppl do...resellers are rated on ppl's experiences...the SAME kind of ppl are also found here on the [H]...*I* leave feedback on RR and rate the resellers who I buy from whether my experience was good or bad...all mine have been good...

I wasn't saying that the OP was a NE fan-boy...I was talking about all the ppl who always suggest buying from NE and praise it over and over...I ask why buy from NE when there's other resellers out there who are just as good if not better who also sell the same product for a cheaper price...they always say it's cause of the customer service is so great...

to ME, the customer service isn't as big (note that I'm saying it isn't AS BIG *NOT* isn't an issue) as the other things I mentioned that I look for in a reseller...

who cares. Use 'em if you like 'em. Don't if you don't. It really is that simple.

Which is why I do the steps that I do...sure it takes longer to shop around but with good decisions and a bit of time you'll be sure to get the product you want at the lowest price and by the most reliable reseller...

And one more things to add to my first post...Resellers with a 7+ rating don't get that 7+ rating for not having good customer service...they'll most likely have good customer service...but you can always check the ppl's feedback to see if anyone is having any problems with customer service...

There once was a time when I didn't think twice about ordering from Newegg but now I shop around. Still a nice place for somethings but I don't order most of my stuff from them anymore which is a shame because I've always liked them. :(

Agreed, I'm no longer monogamous to newegg. Its a comfortable buy, but with competition so high, other companies look to see what the egg did right (good shipping and CS) and are matching or exceeding their efforts. I still use the egg, but I wont hesitate to buy somewhere else if the price is a couple bucks cheaper (example, zzf).
