Hello All,
I was just watching some -advmethod and -bigadv units finishing up and I noticed a message of:

Average load imbalance: xx.xx%

What is that? The loading across the cores? Is a high imbalance detrimental?

Any info is appreciated, I had a look around google and couldnt really find an answer.

Thanks,
Eddie

Wondering the same. Just saw this on the tail end of my latest Bigadv WU.

I'm not sure of the technical implications of this but it is generated by the GROMACs core. It impacts end-users very little and, honestly, not worth worrying about,

Load imbalance = PP/PME balance in the A2 cores. The lower the %, the better.

This is why running smp -15 is better then running smp -16 on a dual Core i7 system.

This "problem" is solved with the A3 cores, and hopefully will not be an issue for much longer.
