if i buy somethign, itll be Q6600! .. then i should be good for awhile lol
Penryn quad will make me buy a new mobo so i think ill stick with Q6600![]()
True. I believe that the mobo choice is now more crucial than the cpu one since i've seen the cpu price cuts and in a week or two v'll know whether to go with the 1066 FSB or the 1333 FSb which brings me back to my statement that mobo choice is more crucial.
I am personally waiting on a X38 mobo which will carry my 6300 till penryn is mianstream.
well, i made myself a deal not to buy "unneccesary" hardware till years end, so ill try and not buy a new CPU right now... (i do have the money, but spending 300 bucks on a cpu for a machine which runs 2-8 hours per week max...)
but else, i would have gotten either a x3210 or q6600, currently in the process of recoding some DVDs, and just the idea that putting in a different chip could instantly almost halve my encode time....
Q6700! If newegg is selling it at 12:01AM tonight I'm buying it then. Tomorrow if not.
if i may ask, why a q6700? according to price roadmaps it should cost twice what a q6600 will cost
im just interested to see why, maybe im missing something
Qew sixteh' six' hun to the gee zerooo liek am burnin' wit' nero, dawg. Betta recognize. For seriously doh, if I can't get dat G0 on lockdown ASAP, gunna hafta busta e6850, ya hur me. Microsoft Word. Peace out!![]()
Will the 680i boards be ok for Penryn? I was hoping it would last me longer than one bloody year.
EDIT: NM I did a search for the win and the 680i boards will support Penryn with a BIOS update, or at least that is what EVGA are saying about their boards.
