What is a memory bus, exactly?...

I understand that a 64-bit memory bus on a 9000-series card is a detriment, but I am wondering how exactly this will affect performance. What exactly is a "memory bus"? I am going to assume is has to do with the speed at which the card can access additional system memory via AGP. If that is the case, is it safe to assume that games which require a large number of textures will be most effected by the slower memory bus? Or does the memory bus have something else to do with the speed of the card?

Thanks.

no, the memory bus is how it access's the memory onboard the card, wider is better since you can access more data at a given clock, there is nothing physicly different between the memory on the various bus's, its just the way that the chip interfaces and the pcb is designed.

would you rather be able to take $64 at a time, or $256 at a time.. :D
