I have an SLI setup with the ASUS N6600G and i need some recomendations on a good water block thats not to expencive seeing that i need to buy 2. I have a high flow WC system so i dont want the waterblocks slowing down flowrate.

I was looking at swifteck storm for my cpu and i was wondering if i should go with them for my GPU waterblocks.Thanks.

Saying you have a high flow system can mean a lot of things. Can you be a little more descriptive of tube size and pump?

Almost any of the straight GPU blocks (by any manufacturer) will adapt to just about any card.

We are getting plenty of questions on the Nvidia 7800 series blocks...and the short answers are this:

MAZE4GPU Block- This block fits the cards without any problems. It uses the same hardware as teh 6800 series. Remember, if you want an SLI solution for motherboards with the smallest spacing (like the DFI) use the Low Profile MAZE4GPU.

NV-68 Block- There is a change to the 7800 series cards. The height difference of the RAM to the GPU has changed by about the diameter of a human hair (0.006 inches or 0.15mm). Danger Den will make a modifed block to officially work with the 7800 series. Also, there is RAM on the backside of the card. This requires a modifed backing plate and RAM sinks.

I have 1/2 in tubing with the Danger Den D5 pump and a duel 80mm rad that fits my lian li perfectly.

You are very limited in waterblocks if you have to have a 1/2" tube size. From what I have been reading of Cathar's posts a twice reduction down to 3/8" that expands back out to 1/2" on the other side won't greatly affect your flow rates. It also opens up you to a lot more choices.

I've been doing some looking around for the same type of thing. But I also want a water block that will cover the ramof the card. So far here's what I've found: Danger Den's NV-68 in SINGLE and DUAL SLI versions. :) And then there's Aqua Computer's AQUAGRA that I just found in this forum. But it's 1/4" fittings.

So guys are there any other VGA waterblocks out there that cover the memory, use 3/8" barbs and can do SLI??

Also, not to thread-jack but.... I've got a Koolance system, will there be any problem with the gold plated Koolance pieces and copper or aluminium pieces from some one else??

The Aqua Computer AquagraFX 6800 rev 2 can very easily use 3/8" x 1/8 BSPP hose barbs with a 90 degree adapter that Sharka also carries.

NV-68, Low-profile Maze4 GPU, and polorflo makes a low-profile GPU block that works in SLI. The first two I know you can get in 3/8", but IIRC some of the polorflo blocks don't have changable barbs

silverprop fussion hl block for the gpu is an excellent block. I oughta know I have one.:p

If you wanna cool the ram (who doesn't), you can still get the Maze4, just get ram sinks with it. It is an option on DD's site.

I have the DD Maze4 Acetal Low Profile block for my X850XT (It'll work with anything up to 7800 series with the right mounting kit). I had the Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer on it before and it performed pretty well, but when I put the Maze4 on, man what a difference. My idle to load temps are about 5C difference. On a cool day when my idle is around 31C, my load is around 35-36C. Great block IMO.

Beat these prices and quality!

There's a link to the manufacturer site lower down.

The fact that the surface making contact with the GPU is independantly adjustable from the surfaces making contact with the RAM says a lot!

I'm sure this guy will make you something on request?
:)

BTW, I've heard GDDR3 memory doesn't get all that hot really, even at high speeds...can anyone confirm/elaborate?

There is a debate as to whether watercooling the RAM on your video card is benificial or not. The problem with single piece memory/gpu coolers is the usually have issues making contact correctly with all the RAM and the GPU at the same time. There are a few blocks out there that are two piece design, and they seem to work well, but for the majority of people the solution is to just use a GPU block and then slap on some RAMsinks

Well I went to that guy's site and he stopped development of that product due to problems associated with mixing aluminum and copper on the same block. Couldn't see the exact picture, but it looks like he used the Aqua Computer design of having a floating GPU block in relation to the ram chips. AFAIK, there are no mismatch problems of any kind with the AquagraFX 6800 rev 2 blocks. AC also makes a replacement copper GPU insert for that block, but using it as at your risk only. IOW, if you use the copper GPU sink and you destroy your system don't even bother calling. ;)
