Hey peps, just wondering for all you computer pros, what is a good Harddrive band to go with for my new computer i am trying to build, Western Digital, Maxtor or SeaGate? Should i just still with Maxtor since it is SATA? help me please, any advice will be most helpful. but please advice like something you would want to hear, not that smart stuff you hear when you are in high school.

I prefer Seagates and Hitachi's myself, but everybody has their own preferance.

Seagates and Hitachi's have been the two that have stood out for me as being the most reliable, which is what I'm most concerned about.

Have you read the [thread=873523]Sticky[/thread]? It will tell you which brands are good for what you want the drive to do. I can't recommened to you what's best until I know what your budget it is, how much capacity you need, how quiet you would like the drive to be, how much performance you need, and which of these factors is most important to you.

Is your Caps Lock key broken? We can hear you even if you don't yell.

Title changed. Siten, please review Rule # 9. Actually, Mage might want to re-read that rule as well o_0 - DL

Read the sticky like DL said. However, my vote is for Seagate. Good compromise between performance and noise level. If you like performance, a WD raptor is the top of the line (except for expensive SCSI gear); if you like it quiet, Samsung Spinpoints are the quietest.

Fast, big, cheap, quiet. Pick three.
