They're for full-length cards to reduce stress on the slots.

How does it work, i dont see how a full length card hmm connects to one? I just see 5 or so holes. do you have a pic or diagram?

Look between the holes. See how there's a slot formed between each of them? The very edge of the card slides into that slot.

When's the last time full length cards were in use? I remember them back in the ISA/EISA/VLB days. These were also the days when Trident video cards were top of the line. LOL

I don't really know. I've got a server in my computer room (Dual 120 Pentium Pros ) that has a sort of full length SCSI card in an EISA (I think) slot. It's got a plastic piece coming off of the card that slides in the card holder.

In engineering they're still very useful. About half a year ago I was using a full length card for programming a FPGA. The card was worth more than 20 times the crummy P2 system that housed it. Anyways, I'm not sure about most full length cards, but the one I used had a thin handle which would slide into a slot on the end of the case.

lol how the hell do you remove those gay boxes. Cause I have the same case, and it really is starting to annoy me that they are there, an eyesore. Ive tried ripping them off... lol but no luck lol
