Just want to see which way most [H]ard readers are moving...

The results might seem obvious but you never know, there could be some surprises. ;)

Heh, it will be PCI Express, like the one I have now :) Although I have been aching to make the drop to ISA.

I voted AGP, even though the actual next video card I buy will be PCIe, I just ordered a new AGP card Yesterday.

Wow, I'm surprised by the grasp that ISA still has. I think there might be a pretty significant market for high-end ISA video cards which is totally untapped!

I emailed ATI the results of this poll so hopefully we'll be seeing a X1800 ISA version on the market pretty soon... given the results of this poll they would sell better than even an AGP version would!

I'll use one of the serial I/O ports on the back of my computer...

LOL, no seriously it'll be PCI-E.

I'm done upgrading this computer... 3 years is long enough. I'll keep using it till it dies out, starts sucking, or fails to play games at medium graphics.

Then I'll just get a laptop and a console, or a killer SLI rig =D

My next setup will be Cyrix/ISA based... :p

ISA? haha

I have an AGP card now and my ASRock supports AGP/PCI-E so my next video card will be PCI-E.

the last agp card i bought was my 9700np
after i went A64 I went PCIe

I'm not one to cling to a dying slot

ISA > all.. I believe I read in the inq. that the next dual video card from Asus will be the dual 7800 GTO, on the ISA slot.

Oh but with ISA, your not limited to just 2....

I think i had a board with 8 ISA slots on it.....OMFG.....8xSLI....think of the possiblities... :D

Imagine what a modern ISA video card (16-bit) would mean, besides ISA slots not even existing on new boards (watch someone pull out some server board with an ISA slot now ;)):

1. Any card using more than 12W needs an external power connector.

2. The ISA bus can only address the first 16MB (A0:A19 & LA17:LA23) of system memory, so all graphics data would have to be broken into 16MB max chunks and fed to the card.

3. And all data transfers would go very slowly because because the bus runs at 8.33MHz (16.6MB/s bandwidth).

Forget about system texturing, you could stream textures off a dated hard drive!

Stickin with the AGP, will probably upgrade to an X800XT after this 9600 Pro is done maybe a year from now.

Since I already have a PCI Express Video Card, its not very logical to go backwards. So Unless something new is out in the next year, looks like I will be staying with PCI express for my next card.

I see no reason to jump to PCI-E until M2 comes out. Why change mobo´s now when I´ll be forced to a year down the road anyway? Picking up a 6800GT will hold me over till then, I can live at 1280x960 for another year.

That's also my exact thoughts at this moment.

I'm torn between PCI-E2 and ISA-X. Would've voted, but those weren't selections.

Unless someone releases a new high end agp card, I've pretty much maxed out what I can do with agp. My next upgrade will have to be mobo & video, probably cpu & ram as well.
