Well i just Ordered the ThermalTake Venus 12. I read one review, They only had the retail HSF to comparew it with and.... surprise surprise it beat it.
ThermalRIGHT, has a new 948U model thats basically the AXP version with new attachements. I saw this one at sidewinder computers, for about a day. They are no longer in stock or even listed on the website. Maybe it was a hallucination. Maybe it was just an engineering sample like the supposed 3400+, awhile back.
This isnt really a recommendation for either. All i can say is the Venus looks badass. But I have a feeling the 948 wouldve been more efficient. The 948 would be more expensive, it also doesnt come with a fan.
I wish some hardware sites would get off their ass and do more A64 related reviews. Especially in the HSF and Motherboard area.
Im getting an ECS 755 SIS chipset Mobo, and beyond reference samples no one has tested this board. Owell, at least its cheap as hell.
I've decided on the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu for my A64 3200+ setup. I'm not going to heavily overclock it, just enough to get a slight kick and still let it last for quite a few years, hopefully.
