Here I am again...im still at it, ived been trying to go past 4GHz, ived been succesfull getting to 4GHz but not stable. My first CPU was P4 3.4C, but would not go higher than 3.9ghz so i decided to get a pressy(3.2ghz) but still no luck with it and again replace it with a 3.4ghz pressy....but damn still wont work, so maybe i thought it could be my RAM, so i got myself a new RAM(TWINX1024-4400C25 CORSAIR) but still it just wont go beyond 4ghz without shutting down, whats wrong? ived tried diff. vcore setting, etc. and nothing works. Give me some help here guys, this is just way over my head.

Just to let you know, Asus motherboards suck complete shit, thats probably your problem.

Buy an Abit motherboard or volt-mod your current one. If you have a good PSU, then its your motherboard thats the problem. A 3.4c should hit 4ghz on water without that much trouble if the voltage is stable. Your ram is fine, wouldnt worry bout it and you've got water cooling so it aint that.

Asus = shit for stable voltage
Abit = good for stable voltage

Answer = get an Abit next time :)

thats bullshit funk... asus is very good. To the OP you probably need a better psu, or a different model of motherboard

Is their a guide or visual aid that can show me how to sink a mosfet, i would really try everything to get this going, if its heating up then i would do it or do voltmod etc. :)

You don't really need a guide. Get some sort of thermal adhesive, get some ramsinks, and slap them on the mosfets. :)

The problem is I dont know which one is which :D and which one to use generally, So bear with me ived never done this :p

Fuck off its bullshit. Asus suck shit at making stable voltage carrying motherboards and need to be modded to get to very high clocks most of the time. Out of all the motherboard mods out there, the most common one (apart from the DFI sli one, which doesnt count) is Asus P4P and P4C volt-modding so dont give me any fucking crap about it being bullshit. Why the fuck would i have to mod my motherboard if they were so good?

BTW, if you only have a generic PSU or semi-generic (Antec Smartpower for example) then buy a better PSU like a Truepower, NeoPower or Ernemax.

As for different motherboard, dont buy Asus, otherwise you'll end up where you are all over again. Just volt-mod your current one and see what happens, costs like $5 in parts. If you dont want to/cant but still want better o/c and you have a good PSU, buy an Abit, they kick Asus' ass when it comes to stable overclocking/features. IC7-G shits on anything asus has to offer in the 478 market any day of the week, unless of course you want to run at stock speeds :p, but even then the IC7-G is still a better motherboard.

As for cooling mosfets, just jerry-rig a slow speed 120mm fan over them and they'll be fine. My mobo clocked to like 3.65(that wasnt even maxxed) in a lian-li PC65(small) with 1 slow speed 80mm case fan so i think you should be fine without too much modding in that area. Just crank your cpu voltage to max-safe-limit and if that doesnt help, volt-mod the bitch.

Lastly, matt, you say you dont o/c so i wouldnt talk down to a person who does

why dont you use normal terms like banned and leave that crap at the other forum.

i have to agree though asus sucks.

wtf does B7 mean?

And if you'd cared to have noticed, that 'Fuck off' wasnt directed as an insult but rather a rebuttal to the fact he tried to contradict me.
