what headphones do you use?

zalmans suck.

i like my sennheiser 280pros. they close out sound well, and have a lot of clarity. only thing lacking is the bass, but that's ok.

they are not technically headphones, since htey go inside of the ear, but I like using my Sony MDR-EX71 earbuds with my computer...actually I love using htem with everything...even my palm pilot (GO GO MP3!!!) :D

How do you like your Shure E2c? I want something for the gym.

Sony EX-71 . . . excellent phones, especially for the price. I haven't tried the high-end Shures or Etymotics, but they were out of my price range. Highly recommend the EX-71's to all portable users.

I really like my E2c, i use them in the gym and running on the treadmill all the time. They are great. WHen you get them though, if they don't sound that great, just keep trying, they aren't sounding good because you aren't getting a good seal.

Agreed, getting a good seal is the secret to canalphones sounding their best.

Many of these sets come with varying sizes of silicone or foam cushions, so you can get the one that fits you best.

BTW the size of your melon has nothing to do with ear canal size...my head is freaking massive, to where most adjustable ball caps don't fit...and I still use the small cushions. Basically, if the sound is bar it's likely not in ddep enough or too small....if it slides out or hurts badly, it's too large.

Yeah.. I heard those are nice too. Grado basically helped to make them.

The sound quality is well worth the possible discomfort.

Using Alessandro MS-2 phones here - they are almost identical to Grado SR-325's. And, "Grado basically helped to make them?" :D My Alessandro's say 'Alessandro Music Series Grado Labs' on each side, so, yes, I would say that Grado had a part in them. :p

I've got a pair of 15yr old (at least) black Sony headphones...

They actually don't sound too bad, but they're falling apart. Looking to replace them with Grado SR325s when I have the dough.

Yeah.. have head some good things about Alessandros.. unfortunately I havn't had the pleasure of listening to a pair. I would be interested if I could tell the difference in my 325 and a broken in pair of the MS-2.

Anynhoo, emorphien, if you have not previously listedned to a pair of Grado, I suggest you go to a HiFi place and demo a pair. Remember you can bend the headband to better fit and not feel so tight. They are rather tight out of the box.

Dis i know. I'm but a poor college student so some Senns AND an amp are out of the question, Grados will suit my needs better without an amp while staying within my budget. Also I like their sound (I like Senns too but they're different).

If i may suggest, the Audio Technica ATH-A500's are a great bang for the buck. They sound great unamped, similair to grados, and many prefer the a500's to the grados. They are 115 shipped from audiocubes.

Sennheiser HD590s. Currently hooked directly to my soundcard, but I'm planning to get an amp soon.
