Well, I just shut off my computer to add some thermal compound to my CPU.

Upon rebooting, I get that nasty error msg like "CPU problem etc etc", and now it won't clock back to 3.06. I know about the whole, it deteriorates over time thing, but I was running it at 3.06 for ... 27 hours?
I brought it down to 2.9 and its fine, but I really would like that 3.06 =|.

Any help?

I didn't up the voltage at all, but:

my abit ic7 was giving me readings of like

107F idle and 134 or so full load.

Thats not that bad.. so I don't know what the HELL IS WRONG!

did you try reseating the hsf? and cleaning up all the excess tim?

hmm.. I just restarted and clocked it to... 2999.7.

This is weird, it seems to dislike the FSB "167".

Funny though, my bus speed is 666 right now :).

Devil loves me, might as well just stay on this for now. 3.0 is fine enough

if 167 doesn't work, what about PAST that?

What do you mean, "add some thermal compound"? Was there stuff on there before, and if so, did you remove it?

There was none on before. It had all disintegrated.

It's fine now, though.

what do you mean "disintergrated"? you should always clean off old tim with a cloth or something
