does anyone know whatever happend to that new ipod video that was gonna come out? the one with the touchscreen and such?

In the past, Apple has released two new ipods every year and they'll probably keep that up with the new "video" and the upgraded nano. They should be due probably in the fall to be ready for the holiday rush.

they were, but they could also be the truth, as some rumors do turn out to be true.

touchscreen would be gross... it would get all gummed up with finger grease

yeh...i really hope these turn out to be true cuz that is one awesome ipod.....

but yeh...i dun really like touching my ipod...it gets all greasy and stuff

yea touching the screen would be a problem, but the bigger screen would be awesome for watching movies

yeh...i wonder if they would make it widescreen say 16:9? so that all their episodes can be in widescreen and it'd be great to watch. even though i can't download tv shows here in aus which sucks.

im sure them moving to a new cpu company and then axeing that deal and switching back also slowed up production a bit on a new ipod

I've been seriously considering getting an iPod very soon. A touchscreen could be handy, but I don't think I wanna' wait indefinitely for it.

I don't think we'll see the 6th gen any time too soon. The new gens (not countnig the nano or shuffles) come out about every 18 months. And the 5th gen was Nov (maybe late oct) 2005.

I read a news article which speculated that the reason it was being put off is that A: people are expecting a bigger screen with increased battery life, and this is difficult to do = more time to figure it out. And B: because they changed chip manufacturer's there has just been a little general complication that slows down any company process during a transition like that.
