Seems like they fell off the face of the Earth. I bought one way back when they first came out and it's been flawless so I doubt they had technical glitches (haven't heard of any myself). So why did they decide to pull out so fast?

Low sales volume and brand stigma. They were getting smoked by the usual "go-to" brands: Samsung, Crucial, SanDisk, and the like. When people think SSD, Seagate wasn't on their radar of familiar and/or trustworthy brands. Shame, too. My Seagate 600 has been flawless and I'd have loved to see a 960GB version emerge. I'd likely be running one already even though I'm not in need of that much capacity yet...yes, I really do like my Seagate 600 that much.

Yea, it's a shame. Mine has been flawless and is still perfect. Crazy world when a brand know to produce more than it's share of bad drives has to give up on a good one.

I think they went to hybrid drives.

I have looked at one for data storage. 2 TB with 16 gb of SSD would be my sweet spot
