I just bought a mITX system 2nd hand. 4690k, 16gb ram but I need a gpu in it! This is supposed to be a little gaming machine that can handle 1080p and some 1440p but mainly 1080p. I would prefer that the card would run games at max or nearly max settings at 1080p60fps. The system is sporting a 600w psu so it's enough for one card (modern that is). My budget is 200-300USD.

For 1080p a RX 480 is the best price new now, but if size maters a GTX 1060 will fit in tighter spaces.

You aren't really going to find a better card than that Fury for 200-300 bucks. A 1070 or 980ti is mostly a lateral.

You might gain 2-4fps on average.

A 1080 or 1080ti is the only significant improvement card out there from a Fury card.

But that's not $200-$300.

Not to mention that neither 1080 and 1080ti (I think) have a compact form factor. Only 1070 and below has mini card form factor IIRC (Zotac).

It's in a NCase v2. There's a Sapphire Fury Tri-x in there rn but it barely fits.
Sounds like you already have installed what you asked for. The card you have now even being tight will outperform all the $200-$300 new cards out today.

fury isn't mine

You can get a 480 8GB for 180-220 new if you look for a decent sale.

You can get a 980TI for 300ish on the FS/FT forum if you look around.

A 1070 might be in the 300's used, but you'd have to hunt some.

RX470 8GB/RX480 8GB/GTX1060 6GB/Used 980TI 6GB/Perhaps a 8GB 1070 if you stretch a tad.

Forget 3/4GB cards.
