I did what the faq says about uninstalling a driver... I did a search and didn't find anyone else that had this problem.

I upgraded my MSI Ti 4600 with a BFG 6800 Ultra... but it's not installing right and it still says MSI StarForce 6800 Ultra. I have no controls over the BFG because it thinks it's a MSI card still. Grrrr... I don't know what else I can try!?

I uninstalled the drivers in add/remove and proceded to reboot into safemode where i used driveclean pro twice (to make sure it got everyting)... I guess it's not getting everything, otherwise I wouldn't have this problem. I've spent the last 2 hours trying to do it over and over and I am tired of playing the rebooting game. Can anyone help or think of anything that I can do?

Thanks!!

MSI tried to help but this doesn't work either...

Dear Customer,

Try booting into safe mode, go to add/remove programs, and under all nvidia drivers, and then reinstall the Nvidia system driver from Nvidia's website, then install the video card drivers.

Nvidia system drivers = http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html

I CAN'T EVEN PLAY CS:S!!! IT freezes every two seconds. It *STILL* says MSI Starforce in the settings!!

Any chance you can put the old card back in, reinstall the drivers, remove them, clean with DC, and *then* switch in the BFG card.

I tried it... and it didn't work :-(

I am currently in the process of backing up all my files that aren't backed up yet and going to re-do the computer from scratch again. HA. This blows...

You know what will suck even more? What if some odd reason I install everything and it still thinks my BFG card is an MSI card? I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Well, I redid my system. It's finally working correctly. Damn MSI... I never had problems with them before.
