I have one of the new Pentium 4 Prescott processors. Pentium 4 520 2.8 GHz to be exact, and I been wondering what does the 520 mean, or even the 530,540,550, etc. Any links to websites explaining it or even an explanation from would be appreciated.

Nothing, no relation to anything at all. Simply a naming scheme in numerics.

It was done by Intel's PR machien to avoid confusion. Remember the Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz? It came in both Socket 423 and socket 478 but there was no name difference. Then there was the A, B C and EE chips.
