OK so I was having very slow response time when installing windows 7 onto my machine. My specs and my previous thread are below. I came to find out that my motherboard does not have a driver for windows 7 so figured that may have been the cause.

I found the following steps to do to my bios and it seemed to resolve the stuttering mouse issue and now my machine is flying. I was wondering is it necc. to reset these settings - I am not entirely sure what I did to be honest.

Here are the steps that I followed.

Go into your bios, go to chipset
Turn on memory remapping
Next go to jumperfree configuration
turn it to manual
go to performance options
Turn on FSB optimize
Turn on memory optimize.

Now I wouldnt mind OC my system a little bit since I have had it for a few years so any feedback is appreciated- thanks

* Previous Post- Initial Issue and Specs

I am currently trying to upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate from a "copy" I have. Anyway I have tried doing it from a bootable flash drive and a bootable cd- both were from 2 diff friends who had success with both copies. The install for both took about 3 hours- very slow- lag with mouse and finally when up very slow to respond. Task manager was showing 100% usage when finally up and running- though memory was only using 14 %.

I currently have a new 500gb WD drive and was going to install it on there as a new copy- I again am seeing a very slow install- and slow mouse response during the installation (from CD). Below are my machine specs. Can anyone suggest what may be wrong- a friend of minie installed his in less then half an hour. Im confused.
