...this one F@H guy named "FrgMstr"?

At one point in time...

04-06-2001 FrgMstr breaks 1000 WU’s F@H

But I haven't seen him around in a while... I mean... I KNOW its relics fault...

06-26-2001 relic joins the [H]ardfolding Council. (Assembling links / Accepted that all our mistakes were all his fault)

But still.. Every member counts on this team... so where are you FrgMstr?

Are you Still Fighting the good Fight?

I am still curious though.. I was searching through stanford this morning, and couldnt find his name listed anywhere there...

I hope his 1,000 work units from 4 years ago didnt get lost... and hopefully there have been more since then...

Well if you really want to find out, I would just email him. Maybe you can convince him to fire up the [H]ardfarm again.

Do you really have to go an encourage him?!? j/k ;)

If memory serves, he folds under a different name now....but he will not give us the name.

You won't find his stats, he was part of the original team, those stats are part of Folding@Home v1(a completely different entity).

After [H] claimed victory at the closing of the project(by a seriously huge margin) Folding@Home v2 was released , everyone had to re-register and the stats were 0.

Anyway that was also the time of the war between the 2 project factions, it was during that time that the team lost a lot of good members including Kyle(all because people couldn't accept the team running 2 projects).

The funny part of this is that we had been running 2 projects F@H and G@H, all that happened was [H] jumped the sinking G@H ship and was picked up by the passing UD ship, still 2 projects, still 1 team. However, there were a *handfull*(not the majority) of F@H members that felt that we had to be #1 at any and all costs(even bashing members on their *official* project choice) and that caused the war.

It is unknown if he started participating in the projects again, but regardless he still supports the team and that is what counts.

1 [H]ard Team, 2 Great Projects, 1 Common Goal..... The Cure

See...that's actually really interesting stuff here...that's more stuff that should be in our history or whatnot. Doesn't sound like our finest hour, but at the same time, it really is an interesting story.

I'd say regardless of whether Kyle folds or not he's done plenty to help out FAH. Just think how many [H] folders there are that are only folding because of this site. Pretty impressive when you think about it, Kyle and Steve deserve a lot of credit, doesn't matter if they run the client or not.

They have also donated a few parts and machines to ppl!! Yummy Folding goodness!!

That's me. If I hadn't started poking around [H]'s DC forums, I'd still be running SETI@home. I had about three years into it when I changed to F@H.

I was just curious :)

I am sure our fearless [H] Super Leader has some good firepower he could bring in for the team, if he didn't already, was just curious :D

That's a lie, and you know it!
But Kyle and the [H] did get me into folding. Hooray for those bored, drunk, and influenced college days that are behind me. If it wasn't for me being a stoner for a while, I would'nt have started folding, which then caused me to quit in order to save more money for boxen.

I used to run UD for 3DGameman, but then the client stopped working all of a sudden on the 2 computers I had it on...had been considering starting folding, and when I decided to make the jump (mostly because from Stanford, you actually see research and some results out of it - well, and the [H]orde needed the help against the Aussies), I did it because of and for this site.

Actually, as interesting as you think the whole story might be it really not a bright light in our collective past and as such shall remain that way, untold history.

On the bright side, Kyle has given a lot, believe me. Between CPU’s, machines etc, not to mention the bandwidth for the forum and the website I’d say he has done right by us all.

A big thank you to Kyle from the “whole” team ;) :D

Oh, very true, Kyle and Steve both have done so much for the team (and us all with the site itself and the forums and such - a place to visit and hang our internet "hat" so to speak)...there is no doubt they've done their part. They deserve all the thanks we can give, because without them and this place, there would be no [H]orde.

As for it not being a bright light, I agree...as I said, it doesn't sound like the finest hour we've seen around here - but still, a classic cliche comes to mind: "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."
