Ok i am having a problem installing printer on my computer. I am running windows xp and its a Hp Photosmart 7960. The problem is when the installation completes and windows goes to install the printer i get an error msg saying "The Handle is Invlalid"

I called Hp the have no idea. I have installed this printer every which was possible. What could be the problem. I tried to install the printer on my other computer and it works fine. Its not the usb cable or the usb ports. What could it be and i have never seen an error msg like that.

Try this: Okay, Click Start and then Control Panel.
Select Performance and Maintenance.
Select Administrative Tools.
Select Services.
Select Print Spooler to open the properties window.
Click Stop to stop the service. Once the service is stopped click
Start to restart the service.
Click OK to close the Print Spooler Properties window.

I think its a driver problem though. Have you tried forgetting the HP driver/software, and just use the Windows generic driver? After your previous attempts, you might have to do some digging to ensure the stuff is removed/uninstalled first.
