what Does This Mean ?

Yeah the cards reference price is around $500, so some of the more "special" versions will be even more expensive. :(
 
Maybe if there was a ton of competing companies lol. I doubt we'll see cheap new cards for a while though. Manufacturers are tires of seeing people wait for the new series to be released, just so they can take advantage of price drops in the old series. These high entry prices mean they can keep the old cards at their current prices.
 
They are basically saying that it's not a 6970 ($369.99) as this bad boy's MSRP is $549.99 and with expected price gouging expect $589 - $599 easy. That's what they mean about it definitely not being cheap.
 
I think it all has to do with how people think (perceive), and therefore, how they buy. When 580 GTX sells new for let's say $500 then $350 for a 570 GTX looks good, and $150 for a 460 GTX might look even better to some.

Wide range of prospective buyers, a wide range of price points to match

Would be nice to see a New (or used LOL) 590 GTX for $375 but that just ain't going to happen cause the market studies won't allow it

Bah, just wait till the new gen gets released, then get xfire of the old gen for cheap.

Good performance for price.
