I'm a total noob at this. This is the first system I build myself. What do you guys think?

Idle @ 50C Load @ the most 70C
Mobo - Abit IC7-G
Vid. Xfx 6600gt @ 570/1.18
It's a prescott that's why it's so hot. Do you think there's still something left in it?

----
Also, do you guys know a very good 6600gt cooler?

I think you're probably getting a lot of thermal throttling if your load temps are getting that
high. Have you run Throttlewatch under load?

Anyway, good OC if it's stable and not throttling.

I used to run the same CPU at that same CLOCK but i had it water cooled and it ran just great..nice job man...*cough cough go higher and get better cooling on it... :D

even if it's a prescott you should never, i repeat, never let your cpu get that high. bring the oc down till you get better cooling, perhaps water.

this also leads to the matter of the 6600 cooler, because if you go wcooling, there are some good blocks for it.

anyways, bring those stats down and keep your cpu safe till you can cool it better, just my 2cents.

Thanks guys...
How high did you get yours to? temps?

mine where around 30-35 but I was on a very nice DD watercooling setup... :D

All right, I brought it down and I'll wait for some watercooing.
I heard that this is one of the best pumps out there - swiftech mcp650
so, i'll probably get that and I was looking at the DD maze 4 what do you think?
I don't really know any good radiators out there.. what do you think I should get?
??
