So I'm thinking of getting a new personal laptop. The only modern laptop I have right now is the SpeedCircuit laptop, which I really only use for tuning. I'd like to have one for personal use, and I'm partial to IBM/Lenovos.

There's a sale going on right now that I was thinking of taking advantage of. What do you think?

Well, don't plan on that laptop being very capable with games. Price seems a bit expensive.

A good casual laptop would be this,

There is a customizing option to bump the cpu up to 2.53ghz for only $60 bucks. Which is defiantly worth it. Graphics are bettter, otherwise take a look at some of these other laptops.

The list is a bit daunting, but from what I've heard/read that they have some good products.

Good luck!

This one seems like the most comparable:

And while it does have a superior video card, it lacks a lot of the creature comforts of the lenovo - 3 year warranty, fingerprint reader, LED backlight, TurboCache, etc.

That said, if those machines are solid I may look into one in the future. They seem to pack a lot of horsepower for the money.
