My apex kit is arriving monday and I was wondering what Ill need to purchase to get it up and running? I know I need distilled water but what else?

Mine will be here Monday too LOL and im wondering the same thing, mostly mounting hardware and Clamps. I can't wait to get it up online and see what temps i get ;)

It looks like the clamps are included in the kit. You probably will just need some distilled water and whatever additive you want to use. A lot of people use a small about of antifreeze/water wetter or something to inhibit bacterial growth and there are also 'enthusiast' products that do the same thing.

Everything needed for a cpu-only cooling loop is included - even comes with a funky green anti-corrosion/anti-algae addiitve. I have one and bought the extra hardware for gpu/northbridge cooling. But I haven't set it up yet as I'm still deciding whether to use my other 120mm rad and, if so, where to mount it.

Well I just went through my apex kit to start the wc installation and my storm block is missing the vital pieces known as hosebarbs. Checked the whole package, in case they were mistakenly put in the wrong box, but they just ain't there :( I already passed up the mcw-55 as it doesn't come with fittings for the apex kit (which is proper weird) and I couldn't find a uk retailer who had the required tube inserts in stock. I am starting to dislike swiftech

So the greenish stuff that comes with the apex kit is the anti-algae stuff?

Make sure it isn't just UV dye or something like that. UV dye by itself won't stop growth of nasty things in your system. It *might* be their custom mix of colouring and anti-bacterial stuff so check that out.

hydrx is anti-corrosive, anti-growth and UV reactive. it's the only coolant additive that swiftech warrenties with their gear, BTW.

what about any kinda clamps at a hardware store? I heard even zip ties are useful as clamps. what u guys think?

i went to Home Depot the day before my Apex came in and got a bag of worm drive clamps. Was a good investment. No leaks so far for my first WCing rig!
