I purchased an EVGA Geforce 6800GT off these forums from s4mrotte, card arrived a couple weeks ago and did not power on. After contact EVGA I was told the card was DOA, and I needed a purchase invoice to RMA it. I contacted s4mrotte who seemed nice about it and said he was going to get the invoice for me. Now its been 2 weeks and I've heard nothing even after repeated emails. what do I do?

Well, first off, I wouldn't have tried to RMA it myself. If something arrives dead, send it back to the seller and make then deal with it

QFT

If you purchase something and it arrives DOA, time to send it back and get your money back.

Good advice, but now he can't get in touch with the seller, so the question is what should he do now. He understands what he should've done, but what about now...

Might be in a bind now. Did the seller offer any warranty? EVGA will only offer a warranty to the original purchaser, so even if you had a receipt you might be SOL.
If the seller is no longer communicating, you may try a paypal dispute (if that was the method of payment).
The only question is how long after you received the product was it found to be DOA?

**Edit**
Also not to judge, but if you look at his heatware he recently had a problem with selling a problematic video card that had a defective fan. I'm guessing he bought a lot of dead/problematic cards and resold them. Odds are he's not the original buyer after reading he had multiples.

What a pain! Didn't ship for weeks, though he told me repeatedly it had shipped when it hadn't. It shipped two days after the paypal claim. Worse, when it got here, the fan bearings were so noisy you could hear them 15 feet away. He knew it was crap. Not a guy I'd want to buy from again.

I had already sent the money before the bad feedback. I sent him a message that said he has until wednesday , then I'm going to file a paypal dispute.
