I don't know much about photography, but my gf takes some pretty good pics and wants to get into it. I have a 700.00 budget to get a nice, quality digicam. Anybody have any suggestions???

thanx in advance,

Ram

Digital Rebels are going down in price, btw. Pick up a used Canon G3. All manual controls, good quality and a hotshoe.

 those retail for around $1000. if you can find one of those used go for it.

If by September 2004 someone is paying $1000 for a digital rebel they do not have all their marbles.

new drebels go for $800 in aftermarket and on Ebay ... sure you might pay $900-$1000 if you buy one from Ritz Camera.

I might also recommend a used D60, because it has some features the 300D does not and a more "professional" body. They are $600-$800.

She, kind of, has her heart set on the nikon 5700 any comments on this camera???
