Well just read the present slashdot poll abt 5.25 disk and a few of the comments abt how notches were made.

So i got thinking, a geek is a geek no matter what. So what did geeks do before computers were around??

Wow. This is just about the most off-topic thing I've ever seen here in OSes. To answer your question, though, before computers a lot of geeks did radio.

Depends on how far back we're talking.

Blacksmiths, locksmiths, glass blowers, mechanics, ham...all these professions were geeky at some point in history, and they all had their hackers.
