What decoding type?

If you want to send a Dolby Digital signal to the decoder, only a few sound cards will allow you to do that. The HDA X-Mystique and Soundstorm cards would let you do this. Looking at your sig, doesn't look like you have a nForce 2 chipset.

Any reasons why you are looking at this particular headphone/amp?
 
I was just told that it's a great performer. But I thought that the dedicated amp can take the place of the sound card you speak of. Can a 5.1 signal be carried through coaxial cables and RCA stereo cables too?

Actualy, let me redo all this.

What do I NEED to get a 5.1 signal to this amp for playing games like Doom 3?
