What components could possibly make a squeak noise?

i get this squeak/screech noise at shut down. only thing i changed since when the squeak wasn't there is a 7800 gs and x-fi. but i don't understand how any of those components could be making that squeak noise. this noise only happens when i shut down and the moment when power cuts. the noise is pretty loud that when i stick my ear next to my case with the side panel off, i can't really tell where it is coming from. what could possibly making that noise? it sounds like a rusty door hinge being opened quickly, cept more high pitched. so far i know it's not any of the fans in my case, cuz i've stopped each one during shut down with my finger and the noise is still there. all fans cept the ones in my psu cuz i can't really stop that. but just wondering if anyone had a heads up.
 
When I did a build a while ago I forgot to plug that Molex into the Video card and when I started it up it scared the living crap out of me.

It was a LOUD (and I mean loud) screech that made the cat jump up out of the chair that was on the other side of the room.

Maybe the power supply isn't strong enough, or is killing the power to that tap a split second before the rest of the system.
