What Color Laser Printer

[rosco]

We're looking at getting a color laser printer. Budget of around $500. This will be in a workgroup setting with 8 people sharing it.

If there is a all in one that is also a good color printer that would be a bonus. It's always nice to have an option to scan something in.

Most of the time, they will just be printing two pages or so at various times throughout the day. They also want to be able to print fliers though which would be 200 or so pages at a time when they do that.

What would you recommend?

I'm very happy with my Brother DCP 9020 CDW.

Canon or Kyocera by far, unfortunately Kyocera is kinda out of your budget by ~70% or so :-/
I would highly recommend you to avoid Lexmark and OKI unless you like dodgy hardware and/or expensive toner.

Very good bang for the buck, EoL so you get a very good discount on these

I went with the Canon. I've heard good things about canon printers but never really used one. I'll see how this one cooperates.

Thanks!

Don't forget to update firmware and use Canon's Generic PCL6 driver instead of their UFR II one.
No idea why it's not linked at the product page...

FWIW this model seems to take HP toners too (comfirmed by Amazon user(s), no idea if genuine works however...)

Brother makes a fantastic color laser, with fairly inexpensive toner.
