what causes temporary freezing?

I experienced the following using a GTX 970 and also did the same with a GTX 1060 6GB.While playing Mass Effect Andromeda I saw occasional freezing, everything would just stop, wait for 1-2-3 and then it ran well. This repeated every so often, enough times that I can say it's sort of consistent but it didn't seem to be scene dependent.

First let us know your system specs.
Second, that game is badly coded, get the lastest update and video drivers
If this kind of problem happens in other 3D games, then it might be a hardware problem
