Just curious if you guys could lemme know of a good case that is reletivly cheap that i can fit this thing into. what i want to do is to have it out the bottom of my case and the shroud half in my case half out with enough room on the bottom for my pump (aquaextreme) and a set of 120mm fans. Was wanting to have it so i could make some legs on my case so the HC could sit into a tupperware bucket with some nice cold ice water for it to sit in.

Right now i have an antec SLK3700AMB case and i test fit everything and it is not going to fit. http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=93700 . I was looking at the Coolermaster stacker and it seems perfect, except i can't see paying like over 200+taxes canadian for a case. Are there any other choices that are like that case? If not what do you guys use?

i'm not really answering your question but:

how do you inted to keep this water ice-cold?

i'm pretty curious... cuz other then putting ice cubes in it i cant think of anything practical :)

that is exactly it. make it big enough to have lots of ice cold water in it, and have my 2 fans on it wired up to a switch so i can just turn them off cause they will be useless. I'm just hopeing that my shroud and my HC don't like have anything bad happen to them from being in water sometimes and then dried out and have air pull through them. That and i just thought that it my fans may just pull some water through once i take the HC out of the ice water. hmm, lol now you got me thinking if this is a good idea or not. lol

Have you even thought about condensation? what your suggesting seems very crude and likely to result in damaged components. The gain you'd get out of having colder water that doesnt draw condensate isnt worth the effort at all. If you want a difference, get air-cond in your room or a phase changer.

i once had a setup similar to what you're thinking of:

i had a closed loop with my radiator sticking out of my case far enough that i dropped into a bucket of water... also, i had no fan on my radiator.. come to think of it, i had no fan at all...
the only bad thing that came out of that was 2 tiny tiny (like 1mm) rust spots on my radiator and that's all

that setup allowd me to keep the water in the loop distilled and i could add water wetter or whatever to it...

every once in a while i'd drop an ice cube into the bucket and drop a few degrees for a few minutes...

but it wasn't worth the effort.. you'd have to be always changing the water...

so unless your computer is beside a sink and you can keep cold water pouring through it all day... it was too much work

ok so i have scrapped that idea, but yea some pics of ppl's setups with this HC would be sweet
