What case for BIX3?

I'm having troubles selecting a case that would fit a BIX3. I would like to keep everything inside - meaning fans, radiator, etc. I don't like setups that show the radiator and/or fans sticking out.

This of course can cause some space problems. I have a BIX3 - and after the BIX/Shroud/Fan sandwich, you're talking a lot of space - not to mention the length of the whole thing. I am prepared for the fact I'll probably have to lose a couple of 5.25" drive bays - due to the length of this and the Power supply sitting high in the back of the case.

So far I've narrowed it down to PC-75's and PC-7077's - anyone else have any suggestions? Anyone have any pics of their setups? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Daishi - I also like the 7077's more because of the stock fan sizes..

I cant tell from that pic how much room is between the top of the PS and the roof of the case. It should be fine for my sandwich right?

Dan over at DangerDen also suggest the Coolermaster Stacker. It looks like there's lots of room - specially on the floor to mount the radiator - but I've sworn to myself never to go back to a steel case again.

38mm thick fans, or 25 mm thick?

have you thought of going to fans on one side, rather than push-pull?

if you hadn't said that you alread have the rad, then i would have suggested the BIP3 or, better still, the thermochill 120.3..................

you can floor-mount the rad and fans in the 7077, if you really want..............you just have to make stilts for your case, same as you would have to do with the stacker.

I've got a thermochill 120.3 on the top of my LL PC-75, and it could easily have another set of 25mm on the bottom for a push-pull and still fit comfortably

Thanks guys.. The fans are Sunon's - I guess those are 38mm?

And no - I didn't want a push-pull - I was suggesting only fans on one side.. like this:

|--Top of case
| Fan
| 1/2" Shroud
|--BIX3

I think mounting this on top of the 7077 would be my best bet.

just to be clear: you're adding a shroud to the built in standoff on that rad? why?

fan + rad + extra shroud = roughly 9 cm. very tight, if it will fit.

fan + rad = 7.8 cm. should be enough room.

there is an 8 cm fan plus a little bit extra above the PSU.

the rad is 4 cm thick, the fans are 3.8 cm thick.

So you say the built in lip of the BIX should be sufficient at preventing dead spots?

not the most precise of insturments, however my hand over top of my own rad says "yes" the built in lip eliminates dead spots.

i mean, ideally, you would have like 2" standoff, but i think that you will probably get better gains out of having the extra breating space between the rad and the PSU.
