alright.. these speakers came with my dell. they're altec lansing ADA-745's. i tried searching for them at altec lansing's website, but it looks like it's a dell only thing.so only available at dells website.

anyway, the rear right speaker isnt giving out sound. i think potentially it just got knocked off the desk 1 too many times or something. i'm not sure what. so.. i'm not sure what to do.

suggestions? i know it's not a loose cable. it may be a kink in the cable, but nothing's moved that would suggest that. um...i just reformatted, but i've never had this problem before so i doubt it's a software or hardware problem i'm relatively sure it's the speaker.

any suggestions on what i can do?

oh:

system

dell dimension 8250
XP pro
2.66 ghz, 512 mb pc1066 dual channel RD ram
audigy 2 sound card
ADA 745 speakers.

first of all.. try plugging them into a walkman or whatever to see if it works then... then you know it's the computer if they do.

you mentioned them being knocked off the desk, it might have put pressure on where the wire jacks into the soundcard, bending the contacts. if that's the case, it'
s fixable, but it might be a pain.

try the walkman thing, and report back.
