What can cause this LCD flicker?

I have an AOA150 and recently the screen has started to have an odd color flicker on certain pages. I assume it's caused by certain color combinations on the page. I've tried changing the OS and the color bit depth.

Could it be a loose cable? I have taken the laptop apart several times.

Here is a video of the behavior. Hopefully ya'll can see, but the colors quickly flicker (maybe they invert?) randomly. Other than that, on most pages/views, the screen appears perfectly normal.

Any ideas? Thanks.

it is how LCD monitors handle some colors.

ITs more noticeable on really Cheep LCD screens there are many types of LCD panels because the maker dont put much effort or extras into how the panel types do things and hide there short comings.

Twisted nematic (TN)

In-Plane Switching (IPS)

Advanced fringe field switching (AFFS)

Multi-domain vertical alignment (MVA)

Patterned vertical alignment (PVA)

They all handle color and refresh rates there own way IPS have reaaly slow ass refresh rate and input lag but handle colors better than some other panel types.

You should not have messed with it if you are using DVI then you get a perfect digital signal unless the cable is really bad then you would get next to nothing. just changing the cable would have been good enough pushing it in tighter and wiggling it wont help you.

IF you have some type of converter box it was probabley your box.

I ended up fixing the cable and got it back to normal. Still have a minor flicker. Are you sure this is normal for cheap LCDs? It is an acer aspire netbook, so I'm sure it's cheap.

It seems to be only on this page though. Anyone else have thoughts? Thanks.
