what brand 6970?

Asus is the best IMHO. 3 year warranty that is based on the serial which is awesome when it comes time to sell.

Powercolor is quite good, they don't mind if if the card is used as long as you have the original reciept. I send in a broken 5870 and got back a 2GB BNIB 6950.

Another vote for PowerColor. Good support and pretty standard as far as policy. Prices are always a litle bit cheaper too. Their new PCS+ products are sweet.

As of right now I was looking at these cards:

Sapphire because I've had good luck with them in the past

or

and this diamond one got good reviews but I know literally nothing about the company

other than that, the MSI ones have gotten bad reviews despite their great customer support

and the ASUS card is a 3 slot card, I plan on cross firing eventually

Edit: Just bought the MSi reference card. it's really cheap right now and it's a reference card so its virtually the same as all of the other reference cards. Made by AMD as far as I'm aware. thanks for the help

here is some advice get an 6970 with a really quiet cooler
because the stock reference design can be get loud

I already purchased it but I figured reference was the way to go, made by AMD directly. I also plan on water cooling, so I'm not worried about loud fan too much

If you are watercooling, you might want to look at the single slot 6990 with 4x DP slots :)

OP - Stick with Powercolor or MSI. Gigabyte's one isin't too bad FWIR. These cards run hot and are loud on the stock cooler.

Thanks man, I purchased the MSi reference 6970. Thoughts? Feedback?

Awesome, I just downloaded it. Anything else I should be aware of? How is MSi's RMA/warranty policy?
