What boggs down AMD's from Overclocking?

I've just been noticing that AMD's seem to have a lot less capability for overclocking. Even with the black edition with multipliers unlocked. Whats holding them back from meeting up with the capabilities of most intel processors overclocking wise?

It's a combination of factors, including the general design of the CPU itself, the process it's manufactured on, the quality of yields for each batch of CPU, the quality of the boards, etc.

Seems likes AMD cpu's, boards and bios vary more than Intel. There's either something in the AMD architecture or quality control that makes many of their cpu's hit that 3.2Ghz wall very hard.

I have an 8750BE tricore that I've gotten OCCT stable @3.21Ghz on an Asus M3A79-T Deluxe. While on an Asus M3A78-T, the I had problems getting the same cpu OCCT stable @3.01Ghz.
