Is Nero 9.2.6 any good? As there is rumor of installation problem, if so, after I installed it, does it work well?

Is there anything better than Nero? I want to have the ability copy the files from my hard drive to a blu-ray media.

For playing PowerDVD was garbage. Got incompatible components messages with my ATI 4850x2 card, so using ArcSoft Total Media which is great for playback.

I will be checking out anydvd now and let you all know.

I'm using it mainly for backup. So I am looking for a software that burn my data files on to blu ray disc.

IN the past, I have DVD+R, and I use Nero 7.5.

So far, I have people recommend imgburn and now anydvd hd.

What's the need to remove all encryption? Encryption from what?

each bluray disc is encrypted, which means that you can play the disc but it prevents copying or ripping the disc. programs like anydvd hd remove the encryption and allow you to rip the disc.

btw, if you are going to rip a bluray, be aware that the image can be 40+gb. you cannot burn a bluray image to a dvd-r, you will need a bd-r disc and a bluray burner. just keep that in mind

I downloaded the ArcSoft Total Media from the web as a demo. Purchased it after I knew it would work with my equipment combination.

I think the first poster was talking about burning his own BluRay dvd's for their high capacity, 25Gb and 50Gb(dual layer), not copying BluRay Movie DVD which AnyDvd is designed for.

well that would make a little more sense.

does totalmedia install a plugin to play bluray from media center? do you think it is worth it? i am not a huge fan of the powerdvd that came with my bd drive

PowerDVD 7 and 8 both worked fine with my EVGA 8800GTS/9600GT.

For what the OP is planning on doing, just backing up data to disc, Nero Burning ROM will work fine.

Since I had been working on getting the Capture RAID 0 setup working, I did not realized I bought the Total Media Extreme BD/HD which included the Theatre 3 for $119.

I used the licensed version to play the BluRay Transformers disk last night and it was awesome. Flawless.

I will be working on burning to disk tonight. It does backups, data and video, so I will be checking that out.

Here is the link. They say they have plugins, but I haven't time to evaluate it all yet.
